WHAT IS CONFIDENCE ?
It is the feeling or belief that you have faith in yourself, the conviction of your abilities and that you are capable. It's not a fixed characteristic so it is therefore an ability or skill that you can acquire, learn and enhance over time. Being confident means you have the inner tools to handle any situation that you may face with emotional maturity.
Confidence also has different levels. The same person can have a very high level of confidence in some situations. For example you may have high confidence in your ability to do your job. But low confidence in social situations for example when talking to people you have just met.
Confidence can be increased by positive reinforcement and repetition.
HOW TO GET THE CONFIDENCE YOU WANT
Once you have worked out which areas you lack confidence in work on the following:
BUILD MENTAL STRENGTH
Learn to love yourself
Stretch your comfort zone
Get to know yourself
SET YOURSELF GOALS
Do something you have never done before
Do some form of exercise, preferably one you don't do regularly
SHIFT NEGATIVE THINKING TO REALISTIC THINKING
Positive affirmations
Change bad habits
Write down every night what you are grateful for that day
CHALLENGE YOURSELF EVERYDAY
Who inspires you - what can you learn from them
Walk tall, smile look people in the eyes
Learn a new skill or a new hobby
SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF
Be 100% authentic
Allow yourself to be emotional
Be kind to yourself and others
Stop self criticism - learn the lesson we all make mistakes just learn from them
